One of my very favorite things about the new kitchen is the peninsula. We took out a wall and added a big section of counter top. The kids live there while I am cooking (which is often). I love having them there with me. I also really love them sitting on their side and me standing on my side of the counter. It lets me breathe better. Eleanor has quickly learned to climb up on to the counter when she feels the need to stick her fingers in something, but she will grow out of that.
