Talent Show

The boys were both in a school talent show.  They both have lots and lots of songs they could play from memory any time, but it is nice to have a performance like this to motivate us to REALLY polish a piece.  They both worked so hard on their pieces and performed them very well.  Good job my big boys!

We decided, one evening, to record each of the boys performing their pieces.  We did this several times over a few days so they could watch and correct things as they went.  I didn't have time to go through and pick the best ones, so these are just random.

Birthday Tea Party

All of the Berry girls had a very fun tea party celebration for Grammy's birthday.  Michelle went all out planning it and it was so much fun!  We met at Spoon's.  Michelle brought her china dishes and tea pots.  The restaurant people made us some fruit cups, herbal tea, and birthday cake.

On our way there, Estella said, "Mom, what are we going to do at the tea party?  Are we going to eat on fancy dishes and use good manners like, please pass the tea dear?"  She was spot on...that is just what we did and it was so fun!

Grammy is getting more and more confused as she gets older.  We were singing "Happy Birthday" to her and  she didn't seem to understand what was going on.  She was trying to get her fork full of food up to her mouth and didn't seem to be able to move it.  When we finished the song, Michelle helped her with her fruit.  She enjoyed the presents, but was unable to open them or even take them out of the bag.  It was fun to help her and to see her excited about the gifts.  I think her favorite were the new wild colored knee high socks.

Thomas Basketball

This was Thomas's second season of basketball.  I think he enjoyed it a lot better than the first season.  He seemed to begin to get a better feel for where he should be on the court and where to stand to get rebounds.  He had the ball a lot and made lots of baskets.  His coaches always seem to like him and I think one reason is because he always hustles.  Good job Thomas!

Nicholas Basketball

Nicholas played basketball for the first time this season.  He played on a team at Caprock that was 1st grader and Kindergarten combined.  It was so fun to watch.  They met once a week, had practice for 15 minutes, and then did a scrimmage with another team for 30 minutes.  Nicholas had so much fun.  He really improved in his ball handling.  Good job, Nico!
