Easter Weekend

Grandma and Grandpa Groesbeck came for Easter weekend.  They got here Thursday afternoon, started working and didn't stop until late Saturday night.  Jackson and Grandpa built and installed windowsills throughout the entire house.  They are beautiful.  They also power-washed the exterior brick several times.  There was a thick white buildup that was super stubborn and didn't want to budge.  We finally bought a strong chemical, and Jackson scrubbed the brick with that all the way around the house.  It looks so much better!  Grandma and I replaced the broken closet doors on my kitchen pantry with curtains we made out of tablecloths.  We also made, covered, and installed a cornice-box in the living room.  I felt bad that we worked so hard the whole time.  Thank you Grandma and Grandpa!  We love you.  Next time we will relax a bit more :)

We did take some time out for an easter egg hunt.

Glenwood Springs Weekend

We wanted a fun and memorable getaway during spring break.  We looked at lots of things and took so long deciding what to do that we almost didn't do anything at all.  We finally decided to do a quick 2 day trip to Glenwood Springs.  We left Friday morning and went straight to the hot springs for a swim.  We had brought a picnic lunch, but it was REALLY cold outside, so we hunted around for a warm place to eat it.  It was still too early to check in to our hotel room, so we slid in to a booth at the hot springs grill.  We felt bad eating our own food there, so we bought a few orders of fries.  Yum.

Poor little Eleanor was so tired.  She sleeps so well in a crib...not so well in my arms.  I have to walk and bounce and walk and bounce until she finally drifts off.  If there is any break in the rhythm of walking and bouncing, or any loud noise she will wake up right away.  She takes three naps a day, so my arms and back got really tired over the two days we were there :)
After lunch we swam all afternoon until we were ready for dinner.

In the evening we bought some ice cream from the grocery store and shared it in the hotel room while watching America's Funniest Home Videos on TV.  The kids loved it and we laughed a lot!

The next morning we had a fabulous continental breakfast and then went back to the pool.  There was a thick fog and it was beautiful.  It even snowed on us, which was magical.  We were all pretty tired from the night of sleeping with 7 people in one hotel room, so we left for home right after lunch.  The kids had a great time and it was a nice escape from every day life.  I will be honest...it wasn't relaxing or rejuvenating ..I was REALLY tired when we got home, but it was worth it.

Full Moon Party

We had a super fun family party for Judd's birthday.  He didn't want it to be a birthday party, so we had a "Full Moon Party" instead.  We went to his school classroom (which is the coolest elementary music classroom I have ever seen).  We let the kids play on the instruments, did a small scale play to Stravinsky's Firebird Suite.  After the playing died down we ate a yummy dinner while watching favorite youtube videos on his big screen.  Finally, we opened Easter presents from Grandma Chelle and Bubba.  They were gone visiting Jazzy and Edmund's family in Idaho, but they knew we would be together so they sent them for us to open together..  It was fun fun fun.
