Second Haircut
My sister Kara and her husband stopped overnight on their way home from Utah. Kara gave Essie her second haircut. It looks MUCH better with the ends all even and straight. I watched and asked questions while she was doing it, so I could learn how to do it myself. I think I know how, but I'm not sure I'll dare. Boys haircuts seem so much less intimidating, even though Kara promises that girls haircuts are much easier than boys. I may have to watch a few more times before I feel brave enough.

Window Basher
We often have birds fly into our front windows in the morning. There must be a glare or something on them, because they sure aren't clean enough for them to think they can fly through! Usually we all run to see if the bird is okay and it has already flown off. This time, though, the bird was laying on the ground, alive, but stunned. Jackson picked it up and brought it on the front porch so we could all look at it. It was kept falling asleep and was having a hard time standing up.
It was so beautiful I had to take some pictures of it. We went inside to eat breakfast and by the time we were finished it had already recovered and flown away.

Kindergarten Music Program
Thomas had his end of year Kindergarten music program toward the beginning of May. It was so fun to watch the excitement of all the children. Thomas did a great job with all of the songs and actions. I think he sang every word. He was very excited and honored to be the one to get out and put away the parachute they used at one point in the program. He did his job perfectly. This first picture is of him putting the parachute away. His principal Mr. Schmaltz is in the foreground of the photo.
