Aunt Jamie and Uncle Jordan came to visit us during their spring break. It was WONDERFUL to have them here. We love them so much.

Moments
Out the window I could see Alexander and Thomas playing a game on the trampoline.
Estella decided she wanted to practice her violin, so she brought everything over to the table.
I just realized that Alexander is wearing a different shirt. This couldn't have been the same day as he and Thomas playing on the trampoline. That must have been another day that got mixed in with these pictures. Oh well. You get the point. I do remember that this moment with Nicholas and Alexander was this day because Alexander dropped his bowl of apples on the dirt. He gathered them all back in his bowl, came inside and asked, "Mommy wash apples in the sink?" I did just that....rinsed the apples and the bowl and gave it back to him. He was very happy and went back and rejoined Nicholas on the hammock. He is so lucky to have such sweet big brothers.

Digging Holes
Last summer was very hot and very dry here in Grand Junction. Our house was vacant all last summer and the back yard didn't get watered at all. When we moved in the grass was dead, dead, dead. We thought we might be able to revive it, but it didn't work. It is gone. There is now just a big backyard full of dirt. The kids don't mind at all. They actually love it. They are completely happy playing in the dirt, digging holes, and throwing sticks. After watching them happily play I had the thought that I could save some time and money by not worrying about planting grass. Then, they came inside and brought lots and lots of dirt in with them. I changed my mind fast. I will be planting grass ASAP! Until then...dig away my sweet children.

Estella Learns to Read
Estella is well on her way to being a reader! She finished the 50th lesson of this book on Friday so we all went out for ice cream to celebrate. She feels so empowered. She has been writing notes and letters to people every day. The Easter bunny brought her some alphabet stamps which she was just thrilled about. These are some pictures of her reading some Bob books to Daddy before bed. She was so excited to show him that she could read them all by herself. Good job my sweet Essie!
